Personal Message:
Second time taking this on, and a second chance to contribute to a deserving cause. And once again, I’m running in support of the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust (HACT) — an organisation doing critical work to uplift vulnerable communities through healthcare, education, and economic empowerment. Apparently, the run itself is downhill this year — but it’s still 89.98km to navigate, starting at an hour better spent sleeping. Once again, I’m dedicating this challenge to the memory of my mother: a loving, selfless, and generous woman. A pillar of love and strength in our family and community, she devoted her life to nursing and to serving others. She believed deeply in uplifting those around her — and she believed in me and my siblings (I was definitely her favourite!). She extended that same kindness, belief, and generosity to everyone who crossed her path. Through this run, I aim once again to honour her memory, celebrate her life and legacy, and support a cause she would have held close to her heart. It’s my way of continuing her impact — one step at a time
