Rise Against Hunger

Personal Message:

Hunger has a strong presence in poverty. Many lives are changed, in most cases for the worst, because of hunger. A persons dignity and humanity can be stripped off because of hunger. Hunger has deprived many families of living a normal life. And children, for the most part, are unfortunately at the receiving end of going the wrong direction due to hunger. I have witnessed this first hand, but also have experienced a series of hunger episodes. And so, I have an understanding of the negative impacts hunger can bring to a life of many and one. An animal kills because of hunger, a human being can loose themselves while seeking for something to make it into their stomach. And this in some instances, is worse than physical death. I acknowledge that some are granted more grace and rather use hunger as a motivator. But that may be the source for one to care more about the value of what one has, rather than humanity. And it can also be a source for one to ensure that they can influence change and raise awareness such that the hunger issue is mitigated at the very least. I therefore would like to run for this cause, not to be at the forefront of the cause. But rather, for one whom has nothing or barely anything, to have something. And this can happen with raising awareness of the matter. Because I also understand what it is to have and be around them who've had for most, if not all their lives. And I have seen that our upbringings differ, which influences the way we live and interact with each other. But I've also seen that if the matter is brought to the forefront, those who have in abundance, or just have, became more aware and can help with whatever they can, whenever they can. Knowledge, is powerful even more in this case, because you can save a life from death itself, and even prevent deep social issues that arise from the root cause, hunger.
