Personal Message:
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved getting out into the wild—places like Mahai in the Northern Drakensberg, the bush, and all the natural beauty South Africa has to offer. To this day, our family takes any chance we get to escape to these pockets of paradise—soaking in the scenery, wildlife, and just being outdoors. Trail running has become a big part of my life over the past few years. Most of my running happens on trails—often in areas supported and maintained by the SANParks Honorary Rangers. Their work behind the scenes doesn’t go unnoticed. This year, I’m taking on the Comrades Marathon—not just with my wife, my brother-in-law, one of my best mates, and a few solid running friends—but with a bigger purpose in mind. We’re raising awareness and funds to give back to the places that have given us so much. I’m running not only to support SANParks Honorary Rangers but also to bring attention to something close to home— Traumatic Head injuries. My brother-in-law, Hayden, suffered one five years ago, and the fact that I get to run this race alongside him is something I don’t take lightly. If this speaks to you, I’d be grateful for your support. Help us back the SANParks Honorary Rangers and the work they do to protect the places we love to run, rest, and recharge.
