2025: Running for a Purpose 2025 will mark my third Comrades Marathon, and as I prepare to take on this incredible challenge once again, I am reminded of the struggles many children face every day. My own journey to this race has not been easy—I had to overcome significant challenges, including losing 60kg, to make it to the start line. But no challenge I’ve faced compares to what children battling cancer endure daily. That’s why I am running again in 2025—to raise funds and awareness for CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation), an organization dedicated to supporting children and families affected by cancer. Every year, thousands of children in South Africa are diagnosed with cancer. CHOC provides these young warriors with critical medical treatment, emotional support, accommodation for their families, and a sense of normalcy during their journey. Their work ensures that no child fights alone. Why Your Support Matters Your sponsorship will directly impact the lives of children battling cancer. The funds we raise will help: ✅ Fund critical medical treatment and medications for children with cancer. ✅ Provide emotional and psychological support for children and their families. ✅ Ensure children can access care without financial burdens. Running the Comrades Marathon—one of the toughest ultra-marathons in the world—is more than a personal challenge for me. It’s a way to make a real difference in the lives of these children.
